Renova Energy Graphic Design Projects

These graphic design projects are a couple of examples I have created for digital and print formats that aid in expanding our brand across our external and internal audience.

External Marketing Efforts

Social Media Marketing

Prior to my coming, most of our social media marketing strategy was to showcase photos of solar panels and installations. I transformed our content to provide information that is relevant and useful, bite-sized, and pleasing to the eye. The content created was intended to be evergreen with the emphasis on advocacy, education, and sales.

For our social media posts, I opted to introduce carousel format posts as a way to deliver information and provide engagement to the audience.

For our Instagram and FaceBook stories, there were many components that influenced the type of content and information that was being presented. We wanted our design to be functional to the goal we were aiming for, which is to generate leads or direct traffic to our website. I paid attention to assets, such as Instagram links one could place on their story, that will affect the layout of my design.

Social Media Short Form Videos

Paint El Paseo Pink 2022 | October 2022

Equipment Used:

Camera - Canon EOS 90D

Lens - Canon EFS 18-135mm 1:3.5-5.6 IS USM

Microphone - Rode VideoMic Pro+

Music - Adobe Stock with licensing permissions

Context:

Renova Energy gives back to the community by participating in and sponsoring numerous events in the Coachella Valley. This one was the first event that I participated in at the company and in general. The approach to this video was to give a sort of documentary style with an emphasis on the importance of the event and breast cancer awareness while also keeping in mind how our company is tied to this cause. Due to the timeliness of the event, I produced this video in less than 6 hours with the various shots I was able to record on-site using programs such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Audition.

Kilowatt and the Kilowatt Hour: Understanding the Difference | January 2023

Equipment Used:

Camera - Canon R5

Lens - Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8 IS USM

Microphone - JLab Talk Microphone

Music - Adobe Stock with licensing permissions

Context:

Understanding the basic fundamentals is important to understanding future key concepts. For the most part, many professionals speak about solar in terms of kilowatts and the amount it produces. While it is correct information, many people, especially customers, will not understand it at first. This video was intended to give the public a better understanding of kilowatt as it relates to solar and electricity as a whole. I selected one of our energy consultants for his ability to succinctly explain this topic while also exposing him more to the media for potential clients who have someone they could ask if they decide to go solar.

Customer Facing Print Collateral

After the solar installation is complete, our energy consultants hand a gift basket to the customer with goodies from local business we've partnered with along with other promotional items and collateral. Our primary color was updated and I decided to update a few pieces of collateral to better reflect the message and to be consistent with other printed collateral. These examples showcase before and after examples.

Internal Marketing Efforts

Internal E-Newsletters (Solar Flare)

Over the course of months, the greatest issue we were able to overcome was to remove unnecessary content from our internal newsletters. From 13 pages of content to 3-4 pages, we are able to present new content for our employees while revamping the design of our headers that presented the necessary information within.

Employee Spotlights (Beyond the Install)

This was an initiative I proposed to be able to create a community within our employees to know each other's story inside the company and in their personal life. This was the first occasion in which I created a subdivision logo that expanded the areas of our branding standards. I took photos of the employees and added other necessary graphic assets that showcases the employee's personality through the header in relation to the profile that was written.

Internal Training Videos

Neutral Density (ND) Filter - K&F Concept ND8-128 (3-16 Stop)

Microphone - JLab Talk Microphone & Rode VideoMic Pro+

Context:

As the company is growing and reaching new territories, the request to make a site survey training video is for new employees to be able to understand the process during training sessions. It is also a way for other employees to understand the process of the site survey. Because many training videos can have a negative connotation of being boring and corporate, my approach was to produce a video one could watch that is educational yet a video one could search on YouTube when looking for DIY projects and having a modern, clean, and minimalistic feel. I used were Adobe Premiere Pro and Audition.

I worked along with our freelance copywriter and our engineering department to create a script. Once the script was completed, I compiled a shot list of needed b-roll footage. I was selected to be the narrator for the video; thus, I recorded my audio and edited to sound clear and with a pace that makes the information easy to process.
